20.2 EPC “Container ” File

For more information about EPC, see 19.1.1.4 EPC and the Energistics Packaging Conventions (EPC) Specification referenced in Section 2.4 PRODML Use of Other Energistics Domain Standards.

The EPC file (which is actually a .zip file and can be opened by any zip file tool, e.g., Winzip, if its file extension is changed to .zip for this purpose) (Figure 20.2-1) contains all XML data that comprises a DAS acquisition, and includes:

• Optical Path
• Instrument Box
• DAS Acquisition
• References to the related HDF5 files (which this DAS standard requires to be stored outside the EPC file) using EPC External Part Reference files

• Proxy and relationship files

The files have the name of object type + uuid. This is not mandatory but makes it easier to follow by hand.
