20.3 Optical Path

A fiber installation consists of the description of the optical path and the instrument box. For the simple worked example, consider the following optical path:
The PRODML optical path object requires you to declare at the minimum these areas:
- Unique Identifier for the entire optical path
- Name
- Inventory section where all the different segments, connectors, turnarounds, splices and terminators are declared
- Network section where you specify the connectivity of the components (referencing them in the inventory section)
- OTDR section where any OTDR is reported (usually the OTDR that was taken at the time of fiber installation)
