11.2.1 Local Grids

Complex grid patterns may also be developed by replacing portions of a grid locally by another grid (Figure 11.2.1-1). For example, this allows grids to have high resolution near wells, distorted to follow the geometry of the well, embedded in a coarse regular grid. Local grids were supported in RESQML v1 for corner-point grids. In RESQML v2 they may be constructed for any of the grid classes.
